04. Supplements-Hormonal and Reproductive System

These supplement protocols address the following symptoms which are hormonal (endocrine system) and reproductive system related. In order to get the root of these issues, it is highly recommended you consult the Hormonal and Reproductive System Protocol.

  • Breast density
  • Fibroids
  • Cysts (ovarian, uterine, vaginal and cervical)
  • Endometriosis
  • Infertility
  • Hormonal problems
  • Menopause symptoms: hot flashes, chills, night sweats, running hot and body temperature fluctuations
  • Painful periods, PMS
  • Loss of libido
  • Thyroid conditions

What all of these conditions have in common is an overburdened liver filled with toxins, pathogens, fat and/or excess hormones such as adrenaline. When consuming a high fat diet there is increased strain on your adrenal glands to produce adrenaline to thin your blood in an attempt to maintain oxygen levels. Over time, this can fatigue your adrenals and limit their ability to take over hormone production when someone is going through menopause and beyond.

When your liver is overworked, overfilled and underfed (not getting enough glucose due to high fat) it can overheat leading to hot flashes, chills, night sweats and body temperature fluctuations.

Your liver is your primary detoxification organ working around the clock to protect you from the endless onslaught of harmful substances we consume and are exposed to on a daily basis. It does this by primarily by disarming and neutralizing them as they enter your body but after repetitive exposure and weakening it resorts to sequestering toxins and pathogens off within it so that your brain, heart and other body parts are protected. Thus, there are sections of your liver that are storing harmful substances, viruses and bacteria (taking up valuable liver real estate which should really be for glucose, glycogen and nutrient storage) while patiently waiting for the right conditions to be able to safely release them out of your body.

When your liver is at capacity, the stage is set for spillage into the body which contains its toxins, pathogens and fat. Then, your body's secondary filtration system, your lymphatic system, becomes thick and stagnant. This can result in increased breast density as breast tissue contains lymphatic vessels where overflow substances can settle here.

If particular pathogens such as the Epstein-barr virus and/or strep bacteria get past the liver they can settle into:

  • The uterus and/or ovaries leading to fibroids, endometriosis, infertility, PMS and/or painful periods
  • The thyroid creating cysts or other thyroid conditions such as Hashimoto's, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism

Unless your liver is properly detoxified, the root of these issues will never be fully addressed. In order to appropriately clean up your liver, the right kind of nutritional integration is paramount. This means lowering fat intake, regulating adrenaline production, avoiding foods that propagate pathogens and eating healing foods and liquids that provide amply glucose, electrolytes, hydration and nutrients to truly support your liver.

  • It can be extremely confusing and overwhelming to be a supplement consumer. There are so many products out there of which many have undesirable additives and may not contain adequate dosages to actually be therapeutic. Please refer to the Problematic Supplement Self-Reflection to take a good analysis of your current supplements.
  • It is not uncommon to be on 10-20 different supplements at a time, even to just maintain optimal health let alone facilitate healing and detox. Your amount may vary depending on your individual needs and circumstances.
  • If you are sensitive or have a lot of symptoms and health issues, it is suggested that you introduce 1 supplement at a time at a low dose and gradually increase as tolerated. Wait ~3-5 days before adding another supplement.
  • Supplements facilitate detoxification. Thus it is very important that you are properly hydrated to be able to appropriately eliminate toxins through your bowel and bladder. Otherwise they will stay in your system perpetuating dis-ease.

Given the incredible detox power of celery juice, it is suggested to begin there. The standard amount is 16 oz but if you are sensitive, you may start out as low as 4 oz and gradually increase to at least 16 oz and even 32 oz depending on your individual healing needs.

Regarding individual supplements, it is recommended you start out with foundational Zinc, Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C (if listed) for each protocol.

Next, at a pace that works for you, add Barley Grass Juice Powder, Spirulina, Wild Blueberry, Raspberry Leaf, Nettle, Lemon Balm and/or Iodine (if listed).

You may then add other supplements as needed.
