By cultivating authentic positive emotion and directing it into specific areas of your body, this practice can help balance your internal systems, strengthen resilience, and improve awareness of areas that may need extra support. With repeated practice, it can also shift your internal state quickly from negative to positive, enhancing overall vitality and wellbeing.
Duration: Begin with at least 10 minutes when first learning the practice. Once familiar, you may choose to do it for whatever length of time feels appropriate. You can also create and direct this “Smiling Energy” anytime during your day to any part of your body that needs support.
Taking the Practice Into Daily Life
Once you feel confident in this practice, you do not need a private or secluded space to perform it. You can apply smiling energy during appropriate moments of your day, such as:
