05. Smiling Energy Meditation

This meditation (adapted from the Vesica Institute Essentials and Practices of Spiritual Science course) supports your resonance by using the energy of happiness and joy to enliven your glands and organs. By cultivating authentic positive emotion and directing it into specific areas of your body, this practice can help balance your internal systems, strengthen resilience, and improve awareness of areas that may need extra support. With repeated practice, it can also shift your internal state quickly from negative to positive, enhancing overall vitality and wellbeing.

Duration: Begin with at least 10 minutes when first learning the practice. Once familiar, you may choose to do it for whatever length of time feels appropriate. You can also create and direct this “Smiling Energy” anytime during your day to any part of your body that needs support.

Preparation Recommendations
  • Set your Intention. Use this or adapt to create your own:
    • “I set the intention to cultivate joy and emotional coherence by directing my smiling energy into my glands and organs, supporting balance, vitality and a positive internal state.”
    • State your intention out loud and write it down or in your journal to increase the power of this meditation.
  • Location 
    • A quiet and safe space where you will be undisturbed is ideal.
    • As you practice this meditation you can perform it at any time and anywhere you feel comfortable.

Taking the Practice Into Daily Life

Once you feel confident in this practice, you do not need a private or secluded space to perform it. You can apply smiling energy during appropriate moments of your day, such as:

  • Riding in a car or public transport (as long as you are not driving)
  • After eating lunch
  • While taking a walk
  • Any quiet moment where you can focus your attention

Incorporating this practice into your daily rhythm strengthens its effect and makes your day more enjoyable and energetically balanced.

Perform this meditation 1-3x/day for the next 5 days, and then as often as desired. *Unless otherwise directed
