13. Left Hip Sense

Your left hip is an important area of your body to sense your postural alignment and resonate health. When you sense your left hip you are able to ground through your left leg and feel the floor below your left side. This gives you a sense of support, stability and frees you to safely move in all directions.

Left Hip Sense Technique Instructions:

  1. Stand facing a chair (preferably with no arm rests).
  2. Place your left knee on the chair with your right leg to the side of the chair so your legs are parallel. Hold the back of the chair for support.
    • Use a towel under your knee if it is uncomfortable. Optional to roll the towel and fold into a “U” or “O” shape to donut the knee, relieving any pressure or discomfort in the knee joint.
  3. Perform a diaphragmatic grounding breath as you inhale softly, slowly and fully through your nose. Then purse your lips to slowly and completely exhale all the air out of your lungs. Sense your abdominals engage as you do so.
  4. Press your Right Big Toe and Arch into the floor and slowly shift your body weight to the left side. Going slower allows your body to really sense you moving left and engages the appropriate muscles.
  5. Keep your body weight over your left knee, sensing weight through your left hip as you diaphragmatically breathe.
  6. Complete 2-3 repetitions of ~40 secs up to ~2 mins.

Perform 3x/day for the next 3-4 days and then as often as needed or desired. *Unless otherwise directed.

  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
