07. Heel Hold Technique

This partner heel hold technique is a great method to use to get grounded, relaxed and calm your nervous system from any acute or chronic experience.

You can use this as a regular practice to ground inside your body, clear yourself from the day or it can be used when in any acute or emotional distress. It has the potential to quickly calm down and relax your body and nervous system from any overwhelming experience.

Instructions:

  1. Find a partner you feel comfortable with.
  2. Lay on your back in a comfortable position.
    1. Can be performed on the bed, floor or a massage type table.
  3. Your partner sits/stands at your feet, facing you and gently holds one heel in each hand, like a cup while remaining relaxed and still.
  4. Breathe while both people intentionally guide the energy and focus on grounding, slowing things down and relaxing.

Perform for ~3-6 minutes, 2-3x/week or for as long and as often as desired. *Unless otherwise directed

  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
