04. Integrative Tapping Technique

Use this Integrative Tapping Technique to quickly shift your current emotional experience.

Tapping different points on your body while stating intentions or positive affirmations is a powerful technique used to shift trapped emotions that are creating stress and dis-ease in your life. Tapping is an excellent technique to use in the moment when you have heavy emotions, are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, blocked or even just “off” or disconnected from yourself in some way.

Use this integrative tapping technique for optimal alignment and in any moment when you need to clear or shift a particular feeling or emotion. 

  • Follow along with the video or go at your own pace as you tap through the 13 different locations indicated by the stars in the picture below. Start tapping on your face and body and finish tapping your hands.
  • If you want a shorter or faster tapping practice, simply select 1-3 tapping locations to to use instead of all 13. You may be drawn to tap certain points or you may use your testing technique to determine the ideal locations to tap for an abbreviated practice to maintain its effectiveness.

 

Step 1:

Identify the issue or sensation you want to clear.

  • It may be a specific physical sensation, emotion, health issue, stressor and/or trigger you want to address. Set your intention
  • Be as specific and detailed as possible and include all aspects of the issue including how you feel physically, emotionally and any linked mental thoughts or patterns. Even if you are unsure if they are related, include all parts.
  • Include any and all aspects or versions of you that are related to your intention. This may incorporate you at different ages or parts of your psyche. 
  • The issue you are addressing may be a consistent pattern or theme in your life that you may have experienced before. Whether you have a memory of the same or similar experience in your life or not, including this in your intention opens the door for you to access this energy in a way that is beyond time and space. 

 

 

Step 2:

Ground and center yourself using your breath.

  • Sit or stand comfortably, preferably in a space ideally without any distractions.
  • Inhale softly, slowly and fully through your nose.
  • Exhale through pursed lips, softly, slowly and fully. Let every last drop of air out. 
  • Repeat for 2-3 breath cycles. 
  • Continue to breathe throughout this tapping technique to release the energy. 

 

 

Step 3:

Insert the specific issue, physical sensation, emotion, stressor or trigger you want to address into the following sentence:

“Even though I am experiencing this ____(your issue)____, I release any negative or toxic energy and reclaim all energy that is in my greatest good. I am safe. I completely love and accept myself. All is well."

 

Step 4:

Using both hands to gently tap continuously on each point indicated by the stars in the picture, repeating your statement made in step 3, one time for each point.

  • Start at the top of your head and work your way down, finishing at your fingertips.
  • When you get to your fingers, tap at the base of your nail.
  • Follow the video to be guided through the entire practice.

 

 

Step 5:

Integrate the experience.

  • Reflect on how you feel after you complete the technique and give yourself a few minutes to even write in your journal.
  • Often new beliefs, thought patterns, affirmations, choices, or ways of being that are more true to you will come into your awareness. Write these down including action steps to integrate this information. 
  • If you used an essential oil, note which oil(s) and what you noticed during the tapping practice.

 

Use this technique ~3x/day for the next 3 days, and then as desired. *Unless otherwise directed

  • You may use this technique consistently over time for optimal alignment and/or in any moment when you need to process any strong emotion(s).
  • Optionally, you may use your testing technique to determine the optimal frequency and duration is best for you at this time.
