11. Yes & No Self-Reflection

Yes and No are short yet powerful words that you use to direct your energy, awareness and attention in almost every area of your life. Through this process, you are constantly choosing and exchanging energy, whether it is neutral or biased to a side.

We often don’t realize where we are expending our energy and thus can greatly benefit by assessing our overall giving versus taking. You create and maintain healthy boundaries when you give and receive in a balanced way that understands and accounts for your needs.

Reflect on what you are saying yes to, and what you are saying no to.

  • Right now in your life, personal, work, family, emotions, thoughts, food, people, etc., who/what do you say yes to?
  • Mark any listed if there is a part of you that is resistant to saying yes, and wants to say no, even though you say yes.
  • Right now in your life, personal, work, family, emotions, thoughts, food, people, etc., what do you say no to?
  • Mark any listed if there is a part of you that is resistant to saying no, and wants to say yes, even though you say no.

Without judging or criticizing yourself, reflect on your answers and where you are spending your energy. Are all parts of you in agreement how to spend that energy? This may provide awareness to deeper resistance than you previously knew and may highlight areas where you may need to redirect your energy.

It is okay to change what and who you say yes and no to, especially if it builds a healthy boundary.

Now close your eyes and take a few breaths clearing yourself of all things. Pretend you are clear of space and time and that all your responsibilities are gone. Breathe with just your heart until you feel more energy in your heart, clear and more free. When you are ready, open your eyes and reflect on the following..

  • Right now if you could say yes to anything, who or what do you want to say yes to?
  • Right now if you could say no to anything, who or what do you want to say no to?

Reflect on these answers, noticing where you need to say yes more and where a healthy no needs to be expressed.

This may provide awareness to a deeper true sense of where you want to direct your energy and where healthy boundaries need to be made to protect your energy.

Reflect for ~5-20 minutes, for the next 3 days. *Unless otherwise directed.

  • Acknowledge whatever you may be aware of at this time with curiosity.
  • Perform this self-reflection again in about 4 weeks to assess your progress and to gather any new information to continue to support you and your greatest good.
  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to use this reflection.
