12. Free Dance

Free dance gives your body permission to release and clear itself of anything that is out of alignment with you.

Quite often when you have physical sensations, like pain or discomfort, you can attach a story and narrative to it. You create something out of what you are feeling which moves the energy from your body into your head and mind where it can ruminate. This unprocessed excess mental energy gets blocked from exiting the body and is harmful to your mental health.

This leads to overthinking and overanalyzing and invites intrusive thoughts. As you resonate with those cyclical thought patterns you draw in low vibrational energy like fear and guilt. This rumination creates attachments and holding onto things that were meant to just move through you.

It is important to understand that as you become more aware of yourself you will recognize even the slightest sensation or feeling that is out of alignment with your truth. You will notice energy, emotions and physical sensations that you previously didn’t. You will begin to see how you created stories around them or how you unconsciously denied certain realities.

As you develop conscious personal mastery, you understand the energy that you experience is not always for you and you intentionally work with your boundary to define yourSelf and how you want to interact with others and the world.

Free dance is here to serve your body in experiencing the movements it needs to move the energy from your mind into your body so it can clear itself and be released.

Expressing yourself through dance is a powerful healing tool that serves to shake out the old expression of trauma and low vibration. Free dance provides space to experience new postures and shapes within your body to create fresh expressions of yourself that are aligned with your truth.

Don’t try or even think about what you are doing or how it looks. Your body simply needs free movement. This may include any movement, pace or style. Just let yourself freely flow and listen to what shapes, positions and postures your body is looking to experience.

So it’s time! Let your body be free. Let it shake, jiggle, wiggle and flow to the capacity that feels right for you in the moment.

  • Set your intention that any energy that is out of alignment with your highest and greatest good but released from your body.
  • Put on whatever song matches how you feel right now and move your body.
  • You may sit moving your arms, stand and move around or even roll on the floor. Move as fast or slow as your body tells you to.
  • Let your body guide you. Focus on how you feels and not what you look like.
