Celery juice is one of the most powerful and accessible healing tools available today. Brought into the spotlight by Anthony William, The Medical Medium, this simple yet potent practice has helped thousands of people restore their health by addressing the true underlying causes of chronic symptoms.
When consumed correctly—pure, on an empty stomach, and consistently—celery juice acts as a deeply therapeutic tonic that supports the body on multiple levels.
At its core, celery juice works by:
Browse the following celery juice information or use your testing technique to determine how much celery juice is a priority for you to intake daily. Implement celery juice within the next 1-3 days even if you can tolerate only 1 oz. Increase your daily intake until you hit your ideal target fluid ounces and maintain that intake for at least 2-4 weeks. *Unless directed otherwise
Many chronic symptoms are not random—they stem from deeper imbalances such as:
When digestion is weakened:
Celery juice helps reverse this cycle by:
One of the most unique aspects of celery juice is its undiscovered cluster mineral salts (as described by Medical Medium).
These mineral salts:
They are also critical for:

Celery juice helps:
Increase hydrochloric acid
Improve nutrient absorption
Reduce bloating, gas, and discomfort
This is why it can support conditions such as:
Acid reflux
SIBO
Chronic bloating
Celery juice actively helps break down and remove:
Viruses (such as Epstein-Barr)
Bacteria (including streptococcus)
This is why it is often supportive for:
Chronic acne
UTIs
Sinus infections
Yeast infections / BV
By targeting the root causes (pathogens + toxins), celery juice helps calm inflammation associated with conditions often labeled as “autoimmune.”
From this perspective, these conditions are not the body attacking itself—but the body responding to underlying invaders.
Celery juice acts as a “neural battery charger” by:
Supporting neurotransmitter production
Enhancing electrical activity in the brain
Helping reduce symptoms like:
Anxiety
Brain fog
Fatigue
Mood imbalances
The liver is central to healing.
Celery juice helps:
Cleanse and repair the liver
Increase bile production
Improve the body’s ability to process toxins
Celery juice provides:
Deep cellular hydration
Electrolyte replenishment
Stress support for the adrenal glands
The amazing healing benefits of celery juice were brought to our attention by the Medical Medium and can be read about in detail in this entire book he dedicated just to celery juice.

Because celery juice is so powerful at detoxifying the problematic pathogens and toxins in your body that are causing your symptoms, if you have a high underlying pathogen and toxin load and/or are sensitive, celery juice can potentially be too much for your body to handle. You may actually experience an increase in your symptoms when attempting it.
The pathogens living in your body ultimately want to survive. As celery juice begins to kill them off, there can be a die-off type of reaction from their dead waste byproduct and/or they may respond by producing irritating toxins. This can result in bloating, abdominal discomfort, increased urinary urgency, pain, more acne, etc. In a way, this is an effective survival strategy for them as such symptoms typically make someone decide that celery juice isn’t working for them and give up on it.
Viruses are inherently neurotrophic. This means they love to live in your nervous system. If you happen to have underlying viruses in the nerves along your intestines or even within your vagus nerve (which controls much of your digestion) this could be a source of discomfort or pain as your body attempts to eradicate them. This also includes any other nerves in your body such as your legs, arms, neck, back, head and face where you can be experiencing symptoms such as pain, tingling, numbness, burning, etc.
The bottom line is that your symptoms might actually increase while attempting celery juice. What’s the best way to mitigate this?
The first step is to consider if you are consuming too much celery juice. The average dosage is 16 oz going all the way up to 32 oz and sometimes even 2x a day. However, some may need to start with as little as 1 oz! If you are experiencing detox symptoms from celery juice it is recommended to reduce your dose in half and continue to do so until you find a tolerable amount. HOWEVER, if you are not able to tolerate even 1 oz, then it’s time to try some other strategies.
Instead of celery juice, consider cucumber juice which is very alkalizing, hydrating and soothing to your system, particularly your stomach. Cucumber juice is also great at reducing bloating, swelling and lymphatic congestion.
Give aloe vera a chance to work its calming magic on you, particularly your digestive system. Aloe is alkalizing in addition to boosting the elimination of toxins and pathogens from your body.
If after trying the above and you are still experiencing symptoms, pain and/or digestive woes, you may need to consider doing a Mono Eating Cleanse where you focus on eating a single food for at least 1 week to truly be effective. Refer here for more details regarding the Mono Eating Cleanse.
If the above suggestions still do not help your tolerance, it is recommended to take a break from celery juice and give it another try in a few months. Your body might need some time to heal in certain ways before it is ready for it.

If you are still having difficulty after trying these suggestions, you likely need more personalized guidance such as our one-on-one Nutritional Consulting to troubleshoot where you are having difficulties and provide direction.
