06. Purpose Self-Reflection

When you resonate health you express the true you and embody your full purpose in this life.

What really is your purpose though?

To answer that question, you first need to determine who or what you work for in your life. This doesn’t mean your boss, employer or your company. It represents your overarching intention of service in your life. In its most basic concepts, ask yourself, “In what ways do I work for the light?”

The light can take on different nomenclature and concepts depending on who you talk to. For some this is simply known as “God” or “God Consciousness.” For others, they may refer to it as “The Universe,” “Universal Source Energy,” “Higher Consciousness,” “Higher Self,” “The Divine,” “Creation,”  and other possibilities. Regardless of what you call it, the most important quality of this light and intention is that it is completely pure of any negative or toxic energy or malintention.

The light is the ultimate source of unconditional love and compassion. Therefore, you must ask yourself if your choices, actions and behaviors truly serve unconditional love and compassion for others and even yourself. What is your underlying intention behind them?

This includes even the most mundane of acts such as stopping at a stop sign, greeting the check-out person or throwing out your trash to caring for a dying loved one with the utmost respect and consideration. We often get into an autopilot state where we forget or become disconnected with our underlying intention and purpose behind our actions. For example, we stop at stop signs to protect ourselves and others. We throw out our trash to preserve cleanliness for not only ourselves but others and the environment. We greet the check-out person with a sincere smile to offer kindness.

Such intentional acts where the foundation is built on unconditional love and compassion all serve the light. You are here to figure out how to embody this, from the smallest to the biggest acts of love and compassion you can create.

Therefore, your purpose isn’t just about your job or productivity. It’s all about the energy and intention that goes into what you do, say, create and give love and compassion for. It is through this that you serve the light and the greater good which includes yourself.

We each have our own unique gifts and ways of expressing love and compassion.

Examples include:

  • Making others feel comfortable and welcome
  • Housekeeping or janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness
  • Creating art for others to enjoy and resonate with
  • Building technology to help mankind
  • Cooking for others
  • Holding the door for another
  • Delivery driver so others may receive their packages
  • Secretary to support her executive
  • Sales job to help others purchase items
  • Diplomat to promote peacekeeping
  • The possibilities are endless, particularly when the intention set behind any act is backed by love and compassion. Even the most mundane jobs and acts can be seen in a completely different light when they are intended to serve the light.

Reflect on the prompts below for ~5-15 minutes for the next 2-3 days. *Unless otherwise directed.

  • You don’t have to do or change anything, just remain curious about yourself as you reflect on your relationship with you rpurpose.
  • Perform this self-reflection again in about 4 weeks to assess your progress and to gather any new information to continue to support you and your greatest good.
  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to use this reflection technique.

Purpose self-reflection prompts:
  • How do you serve the light? List the smallest to the largest acts of love, kindness and compassion.
  • How do you use and express your unique gifts of unconditional love and compassion?
  • What are you passionate about and how does this passion serve the greater good?
  • In what ways could you add more love and compassion to your intention and daily life?
  • Purpose Exercise: Who Do You Work For?
    • To fortify your intention where it is genuinely backed by love and compassion, you may perform this simple yet powerful exercise. Every morning when you wake up state out loud: “I work for the light” or “I work for _____ (whatever resonates with you: “God,” “The Universe,” “Universal Source Energy,” “Higher Consciousness,” “Higher Self,” “The Divine,” “Creation,” etc). Make a commitment that throughout your day you will honor this intention. You may even write it down and post it somewhere to remind you. This reveals your underlying and true purpose.
