13. Lip Pressed Smile

This technique helps to train your lip seal so that you habitually keep your lips closed. The only time your lips should be apart is if you are talking, eating, drinking or exercising to the point where you need to breathe through your mouth to get enough air.

Otherwise, your lips should stay closed while you breathe through your nose. If you have trouble maintaining a lip seal you may have a lip tie.

Instructions:

  1. Press your lips together. Try to ensure equal pressure on the front and sides of your lips. Your teeth should be slightly apart.
  2. Maintaining this contact, smile as wide as you can.
  3. Hold for 45 seconds. Complete 2-3 sets.

Perform 2-3x/day. *Unless otherwise directed

  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
