14. Tongue Push-ups

If you habitually do not posture with your tongue up along your palate it may need strengthening to be able to posture correctly.

Instructions:

  1. Place a tongue depressor/popsicle stick/or any other similar item in the back part of your tongue so that your tongue has to press up into it. 
  2. If you gag then don’t go as far. This technique over time should help to decrease the gag reflex. 
  3. Hold for 15 sec, 3-5 sets.

Perform 2-3x day. *Unless otherwise directed

  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
