11. Running

Running is a dynamic activity that pumps blood, air and energy with each step. It is a faster expression of walking with instances where both of your feet are off the ground.

Running still displays the fundamental human movement pattern characterized by opposing upper and lower body rotation generating centripetal force, just like the toroidal flow of energy!

Some people run for exercise, for fun, and others to feel the “runners high” of the positive endorphins. What is your current relationship with running or jogging? Do you have any beliefs, conscious or unconscious, about running?

Your experience of flow state (or not!) when running will be completely unique to you.

It is recommended to:

  • Wear supportive and comfortable shoes like sneakers.
  • Choose a route or explore a new area to run.
  • Select even, uneven, hilly, flat and terrain of all types to run on. Consider the surface you run on, inside or outside, and the level of give or shock absorption the surface may have to limit excess stress on your body.
  • Choose to either go at a comfortable gentle jog pace, run at your most consistent pace or experience yourself running fast in shorter bouts.

Run/jog every 3-5 days for ~3-25 min or more as desired. *Unless otherwise directed.

    • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
    • You may also test if it is best for you to perform long distance or short distance runs.
