02. Left Peripheral Vision

This technique helps to integrate your vision with your head, neck and body postural control. Due to the asymmetrical nature of the human body, you will be emphasizing your left peripheral vision to help balance your postural system.

This may be performed laying down (least demanding), sitting or standing (more demanding). At the highest level, you can perform it in a staggered stance position or standing on one leg. Depending on your tolerance, you will have to vary the amount of movement, speed and number of repetitions. It is important that you do not feel more than a mild amount of discomfort. Adjust your dosage to what is tolerable for you and gradually increase.

Instructions:

  1. In your chosen position with your eyes open, slowly move your eyes to the left while keeping your head straight.
  2. Hold this position for 5 breath cycles (inhale softly, slowly through your nose followed by a pursed lip exhale ensuring you get all the air out of your lungs).
  3. Then turn your head to the right while keeping your gaze straight ahead, so you will still be looking off to the left.
  4. Hold this position for 5 breath cycles.

Perform this 1-3x/day for the next 1-3 days. * Unless otherwise directed.

  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
