09. Left Molar Sense

Instructions to sense your Left molars:

  1. Gently contact your left molars together (without touching any other teeth) and hold for ~30 seconds at a time, 2-3x.
    1. Use this Molar Tapping technique for more details. If you have malocclusion this may not be possible for you to do. In that case, it is suggested you make a bite plate. Get your inexpensive bite wafers here and then refer here for details on how to make one.
    2. You may also use a folded straw or paper towel to use as a bite plate substitution although a bite plate is best.
  2. When eating, bring your awareness to how your left molar teeth are involved when you chew.
    1. When you chew it is best to only bite down on one side of your molars at a time vs both at the same time. Focus on primarily chewing on your left side.
    2. If you have malocclusion this may not be possible. Refer here for more details on how to chew correctly.

Perform this technique on your left side only, 2-3x/day for the next 1-3 days, and then as often as desired. *Unless otherwise directed

  • Use as often as desired but be mindful of your body’s response. Feeling these teeth in a new way has the potential to stimulate healing responses and may cause a headache or neck tension. Alternatively you may notice this technique may reduce or ward off a headache.
  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
