07. Left Abdominal Sense

Feeling and sensing your left abdominal muscles is a simple technique that has positive and profound effects on your ability to resonate health and Be your true self. 

Your left abdominal muscles provide a sense of contact or support so you more easily feel stabilized in your postural system, activate new muscles and experience a new felt sense inside your body. A new way of feeling, being and expressing yourself may arise when simply sensing your left abdominals in a variety of positions and activities throughout your day.

This technique focuses on the left internal obliques, shown in the yellow arrow, and the transverse abdominis, shown in the green arrow.

Instructions:

If you have sensitive skin it is advised to test a small piece of tape on your body before proceeding.

  1. Cut 3-4 pieces of stretchy sports tape
    1. 2 pieces should be longer that will stretch from your left side to the middle of your body at <50% stretch/tension, seen in yellow. 
    2. 1-2 pieces should be shorter, ~1/3 of the longer pieces, seen in green. 
  2. Place the shorter pieces on first to active your transverse abdominis muscle. Starting at your left side of your body pull horizontally along your left side towards your belly button, seen in green. *Use < 50% stretch or tension on your tape. 
  3. Next, apply the longer pieces of tape to activate your internal obliques. Starting at the front lower left side of your body pulling up towards the midline of your body, seen in yellow. *Use < 50% stretch or tension on your tape. 

Use this technique for ~½ the day, taking the tape off as needed, for at least the next 5 days. *Unless otherwise directed.

    • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
    • Be mindful of skin irritation.
