09. Daily Recap Self-Reflection

Life can feel like it moves so quickly and without conscious reflection, the daily energy can build up within you, blocking yourself and your alignment with health. A daily recap and reflection practice supports you by consciously acknowledging the energy and happenings of your day so you may fully process, integrate and align yourself to rest.

This is a great way to decompress, clear the day and calm yourself for the evening and sleep.

This practice supports:

  • Regulation of your nervous system and centers you
  • Natural sleep/wake times
  • Reduces nighttime ruminating thoughts while trying to fall asleep
  • Clears any stuck and unhealthy energy from your mind
  • Eliminates unhealthy negative thinking and patterns that drain your energy
  • Healthy emotional awareness and management so nothing bottles up
  • Acknowledgment of triggering or upsetting topics that need to best be addressed now or at another appropriate time
  • Alignment with yourSelf and resonance

At the end of your day, before you go to sleep, set aside ~5-20 minutes to reflect on your day. Use the following questions to prompt you. Use your journal to support your processing and integration.

Daily Recap self-reflection prompts:
  • What went well today?
  • What went differently than you expected or surprised you today?
  • What are you grateful and thankful for?
  • What was the hardest part of your day?
  • What was triggering, stressful or upsetting today? When you were upset or triggered, can you identify the emotion(s) you experienced? Did you notice how you felt in your body when you were feeling upset?
  • What is one moment you would do-over? Re-write the experience as if you were doing it over.
  • What was the best part of your day?
  • Who were you kind to today?
  • What are you most proud of today?
  • What did you learn today?
  • What else about today is notable?
