03. The Body Clock Self-Reflection

Meridians exist in corresponding pairs where each meridian has multiple acupuncture points along its pathway. Acupuncture utilizes needles inserted at specific acupuncture points on the meridians to facilitate a healthy flow of energy. These points may also be stimulated with other manual techniques.

Energy moves through each meridian during a 24 hour day cycle.

Every day for 2 hours, each meridian receives focused energy to provide optimal performance and maintenance of all the organs, structures and energetic aspects that connect to the meridian.

  • Yin meridians move energy up the body.
  • Yang meridians move energy down the body.

This self-reflection encourages your conscious connection and relationship with your meridians. Your body has 12 meridian pathways likened to energetic highways that allow for the flow of energy, known as Qi/chi (pronounced “chee”) or prana. Awareness of this natural cycle of energy through your body provides information regarding the flow of your energy and highlights any potential imbalances.

Approach this exercise with honesty, curiosity and without judgment. You are ultimately doing this to serve your health!

Reflect, for ~ 6 min or more over the next 3 days, on yourself as it relates to your meridians and the body clock. *Unless otherwise directed.

  • Log your Body Clock Self-Reflection in your journal at the bottom of the page for later reference.
  • Use the recommendations provided below to optimize your energy flow through your meridians.
  • Perform this self-reflection again in about 2 weeks to assess your progress and to gather any new information to continue to support you and your greatest good.

Review the timeframes and associated meridians as it relates to any related symptoms you may have including low energy, restlessness, etc. Add any self-reflections in your journal below.

Optionally use your testing technique to determine which meridian(s) are priority for you to focus on balancing right now.

Meridian Alignment Recommendations

During the peak time for each meridian:

  • If symptoms appear or increase, this may mean the meridian is processing too much energy. Excess energy overloads the system and needs to be reduced to bring into balance.
  • If there is excessive fatigue or a sedative feeling during a meridian’s peak time, this may mean there is deficient energy flow and needs to be increased to bring balance.

Use the Meridian Alignment Technique to determine exactly what you need to to support each meridian for alignment and balance.
