10. Swimming

Swimming is a fantastic movement practice that supports many body systems. The water decompresses joints to provide a more comfortable way to movement while the resistance from the water supports resistance training. As you go deeper in the water the pressure supports blood return to the heart and lymphatic drainage which reduces swelling.

Be mindful of the water/chemicals and the amount of exposure. Some chemically treated pools can cause skin drying and other related issues.

Consider the following or use your testing technique to determine the details about how to optimally integrate swimming into your life to support your resonance.

  • How often should I swim?
  • How long should I swim, 10 min, 30 min, etc. or how many laps?
  • Best to swim in a pool (chemical or salt water) or in natural water like at a lake, beach, etc.
  • Is it best to perform a specific stroke (freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, butterfly)?
  • Is it best to tread water?
  • Use equipment?
  • Is it best to just walk in the water at hip or chest height?
  • Perform exercise movements in the water?

Plan a swimming experience and/or go swim within the next 1-2 days. *Unless otherwise directed.
