08. Right Canine Sense

This technique may seem small but it has a big impact on your cranial bone and jaw alignment which then affects your posture below. The alignment of your bite is a very important factor in keeping your postural system balanced. This technique uses right canine sense for a new sense of contact or support through your teeth, jaw and head.

This new bite pattern allows you to more easily feel stabilized in your postural system, appropriately activates your muscles and enables you to experience a new felt sense inside your body. A new way of feeling, being and expressing yourself may arise when simply sensing a different feeling in your bite.

Instructions to sense your Right Canines:

  1. Contact your right canines together and gently hold for 30 seconds. Use the soft end of a Q-tip to bite on to contact only the right canine teeth.
    1. Review this Canine Tapping technique for more details.
  2. When eating, bring your awareness to how your right canine teeth are involved with your chewing.
    1. When you bite down on your left molars your jaw should then slide right to grind your food. As your jaw slides right, your right canines provide guidance.
    2. If you have malocclusion this may not be possible. Refer here for more details on how to chew correctly.

Perform this technique on your right side only, 2-3x/day for the next 1-3 days, and then as often as desired. *Unless otherwise directed
