11. Pucker Circles

This technique helps to train your lip seal so that you habitually keep your lips closed. The only time your lips should be apart is if you are talking, eating, drinking or exercising to the point where you need to breathe through your mouth to get enough air. 

Otherwise, your lips should stay closed while you breathe through your nose. If you have trouble maintaining a lip seal you may have a lip tie.

Pucker Figure 8s (practice each direction)

Instructions:

  1. Pucker your lips as if you were making a “fish face.” Your teeth should be slightly apart. 
  2. Maintaining this position, move your pucker up and then make a complete circle.
  3. Then reverse direction.
  4. Next perform a figure 8 pattern.
  5. The reverse direction. 
  6. Complete 2-3 sets of 5 circles and 5 figure 8s in each direction.

Perform 2-3x/day. *Unless otherwise directed

  • Optionally, use your testing technique to determine your optimal frequency and duration to perform.
