07. Nasal Occlusion Test

This test helps determine what factors may be helping, hurting or not impacting your ability to breath through your nose.

Instructions:

  1. Take a baseline assessment
    1. Occlude your right nostril by placing your thumb over the front of it. Do not squish your nose but gently place your thumb there to block air from passing through it.
    2. Inhale through your open left nostril and determine the level of blockage or resistance to breathing using the following 0-5 scale where a 0 is no blockage and 5 is complete obstruction.
    3. Repeat on the other side and record your score for the right nostril.
  2. Perform whatever Master Guide item or technique you want to trial to determine its impact on your breathing.
  3. Re-test your nasal breathing on each side.
    1. If your breathing improves it means the variable you tested was beneficial to your breathing and body.
    2. If your breathing decreased it means the variable you tested negatively impacted your breathing and body.
    3. If there is no change it means the variable you tested has a neutral impact.
