10. Ipsilateral Molar Tapping and Pucker

This technique helps to retrain your lip and jaw muscles for appropriate chewing mechanics which in turn supports your cranial, neck, and jaw alignment. This further helps to optimize your postural system below.

Your molars are the 4th-7th or 4th-8th (if you have wisdom teeth) over from the midline of your bite.

Equipment needed:

Instructions:

  1. Place a bite plate between your left molars only.
    1. Make sure no canines are touching
  2. Pucker your lips together as if you were making a “fish face.”
  3. Keeping your lips together, move your lips to the left.
  4. While maintaining this position, tap your left molar together 50 times.
  5. Repeat on the other side and then return to the left molar/left pucker.
  6. Complete 1-3 cycles, always starting and finishing with the left side.
