Unfortunately, due to the nutrient depletion of our soil, our food does not contain the level of nutrients that it once did thus necessitating supplementation. Externally, we are up against considerable accumulating toxin and pathogen exposure on a daily basis in addition to toxins and pathogens we inherit from our parents where we are starting life off already burdened.
This landmark study (Body Burden: The Pollution in Newborns) spearheaded by the Environmental Working Group (EWG) in collaboration with Commonweal, found an average of 200 industrial chemicals and pollutants in umbilical cord blood from 10 babies born in August and September of 2004 in U.S. hospitals. Tests revealed a total of 287 chemicals in the group. The umbilical cord blood of these 10 children, collected by the Red Cross after the cord was cut, harbored pesticides, consumer product ingredients, and wastes from burning coal, gasoline and garbage.

It is not uncommon to be on 10-20 different supplements at a time, even to just maintain optimal health let alone facilitate healing and detox. Your amount may vary depending on your individual needs and circumstances. Generally, the healthier you are the less you may need or if you feel like you are coming down with and fighting an illness you will require more.

It can be extremely confusing and overwhelming to be a supplement consumer. There are so many products out there of which many have undesirable additives and may not contain adequate dosages to actually be therapeutic. Multivitamins are not typically recommended because the dosages of each nutrient are low and many have unhealthy fillers and additives. If you insist on a multivitamin, 1 capsule of O.N.E Multivitamin by Pure Encapsulations contains all the B-vitamins in a methylated format, 2,000IU Vitamin D and 25 mg zinc. However, it is still recommended to do the foundational 3 as well as integrate other essential and powerful healing supplements.
1,000-5,000 IU/day. High doses of vitamin D are not recommended unless for short-term use only if someone is very deficient. Otherwise, they can burden the liver.
It is best to do EPA/DHA omega 3s that are vegan/algae based as products sourced from fish, even though they claim to be completely distilled of toxins and mercury, often contain traces and retain the energetic imprint (similar to homeopathy) of the supposedly removed toxins.
